How effective is the bombardment of ISIS? - Update-1

How effective? Not much, if anything. But it's a great show, great explosions and amazing beautiful and fancy looking airplanes.

As proof of the effectiveness of the bombing campaign, the city of Raqa in northern Syria is being bombed extensively after the terror attack in Paris and the downing of the Russian airliner.

The French and Russians airplanes bombed the command- and training centers of the ISIS, the defense ministry and more 'meaningful' buildings. It looks great in the newspapers and TV, all those pretty explosions and many people feel better knowing that many terrorists died! Revenge!

What they don't realize is that ISIS is not stupid and know what's coming and no ISIS militant or operative died ... not one! They dug themselves somewhere underground and filled the buildings with citizens; further they placed flags on worthless empty buildings and announced the new head quarter X or Y. And promptly they get bombed ... empty buildings or 'worthless' citizens. The ISIS is laughing its head of and announce it through the Arabic social media and they get even more support. Fooling the none-believers must be their national sport.

According the ISIS and its sympathizers, the bombardments of the 'none-believers' shows and proofs their impotence and growing desperation. I must say, objectively speaking, that the ISIS has a point with the impotence. The bombing campaign seems to be designed for the people at home instead of effectively stop or destroy the ISIS.

According Russian press releases, the bombardments resulted in hundreds of death of ISIS fighters; there is even a claim that the Russian cruise-missiles had one hit resulting in 600 ISIS fighters. Right. Propaganda.

But the current bombardments has indeed effects:

1. The number of civilian death has considerately risen. Reason for that is that the Russians simply bomb the area under control of ISIS and other militants in Syria.

2. The number of refugees towards the borders and internally in Syria have considerately risen; about a million additional refugees.

And there is another, more dramatic factor in this bombardment campaign has been revealed.

1. It was already known that the US led coalition is specifically micro-managed by President Obama.

2. Now it seems that President Obama forced his military resources in the US led coalition not to bomb many (clear) ISIS targets.

3. In general, only 25% of the targets were allowed to be executed.

4. Only 10% of the target lists were accepted by Obama with an average delay up to 3 months.

5. They bombed repeatedly oil wells, not understanding why those same oil wells were functioning again the next day. Micromanaging a military campaign by a civilian commander is extreme expensive in resources, global strategy and lives.
